Microsoft already created a larger capacity format DVD by shrinking their security footprint. We won’t see it a whole lot this gen, but we’ll probably see it next gen. Read my reply above.

Blu-ray discs will never cost the same as the much older DVD format and few games will break the single disc barrier.

MS may not use a Blu-ray drive, but they would be silly not to use a larger capacity disc of some sort, as it is games are already taking up to 3 discs, can you imagine the textures for next gen games let alone things like voice acting, multiple languages etc? Absolutely absurd notion to think they’ll continue to use DVD!

MS will definitely use a Blu-Ray drive for Xbox 720. It would be STUPID for them not to. By the time it comes to market Blu-Rays will be as cheap as DVD-ROMs. Do you really think devs want to put their shit on 2, 3 discs again in the next generation (and pay MS per disc)? NO they won’t. I bet you every dev that released a multidisc game for Xbox this gen was assured it won’t happen again. It adds too much cost to the developers.
