The Facebook Hashtag Is Coming, Are You Ready?
#Image #Description #Witty #Haha #OhMan
This news actually broke a while ago, but it’s taken until now to realize how interesting of an idea this is. I’ve been using Twitter for almost five years, but the art of hashtagging (#) my posts has been lost on me. Maybe it’s the low signal to noise ratio of Twitter that’s prevented me from taking advantage of it that’s also shown me why it would make complete sense for Facebook to integrate it.
‘Banished’ Is A Survival City-Builder I Want To Get My Hands On
Only you can ensure the survival of your townfolk.
Everything about this sounds cool: you lead a group of exiles to build a settlement in the wilderness using only what the land came with. Then, as you gather each resource, they must be crafted further to create more and more distinct tools. It sounds a little bit like The Settlers or Caesar, but as demonstrated below, Banished sheds much of what was added to that game for a purer experience. One that I must devour.
‘Zombieland’ To Become TV Series Thanks To Amazon
It’s still really popular, guys.
Zombieland is a funny, inventive movie which had exactly one flaw: there’s only eighty-eight minutes of it. No, make that two flaws: that was four years ago. Gosh, well, make that three: Ruben Fleischer, the film’s director, has been too busy not making more Zombieland in the meantime. Well, Amazon Studios, the content creation arm of that other Amazon you know, of Prime and Kindle fame, has decided to move on with creating a show. The pilot, anyway.

Complex’s ‘Top 40 Hottest Women In Tech’ Is Possibly The Worst Thing You’ll See Today
“We need to post hot women, but of what occupation?”
Ripping a page straight out of the year 1999, a few pages after the Y2K preparations, Complex has brought us not only a lazy listicle (a Top <number> article that simply lists things, a fad that only Cracked.com is authorized to use at this point), but a lazy listicle about the hottest women in tech. At a time when the internet is still buzzing about Adria Richards, the product evangelist of SendGrid who was fired for the firestorm she caused getting some other developers fired with a tweet, seeing a remarkable gem like this appear is perhaps the least classy thing possible

PAX East Started Today, Are You There?
Hey now, that’s a couple of computers you got there. Photo credit: Nvidia
PAX East has been serving Boston since 2009, which seems so long ago, with no doubt record-breaking crowds with over 70,000 gamers converging on the Boston Convention and Expo Center for three days to play games, interact with other gamers, and experience a stress-free game environment that’s the opposite of, say, E3. Sadly, our year is PAX-free, despite my best intentions, but it’s nice to know a great event in gaming is happening right at this very moment.
‘Strip Search’ Recap: Season 1, Episode 7 “Elimination #2”
Another Cosmic Smashing IN THE ELIMINATOR!
Another day, another elimination round down at the Strip Search house. (Actually, it’s sorta hard to believe this has taken over three weeks to play out, but that’s ground well-trotted at this point.) In the chamber this time around are Katie (again!) and Ty, sent in by Nick, who felt their position post-job interview had been compromised. How do they hold up?
‘Minecraft’ With A Point: ‘PixelJunk Inc.’ Allows You To Be Soup Emperor
Galactic Domination! With soup!
Love or hate Minecraft, have you ever wondered what would happen if you were given a task or the things you built ever amounted to much beyond moved and reconstituted earth? Maybe something beyond redstone switches and hidden doors? Enter PixelJunk, Inc., the latest from Q-Games that seeks out a Terraria-style perspective to let you dig super deep into the landscape, fight feral monsters, and, well, make soup.
‘Hearthstone’: Blizzard’s New Epic Reveal Is… A Free Card Game?
Motion comics galore!
Blizzard, you may win me over. While the other nerds in high school were playing Magic: The Gathering in the cafeteria, I was reading PC Gamer. I never had an ‘in’, and none of my friends did, either. So when Blizzard announced their newest game, Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft, would be a relatively modest card game, I immediately deflected. But y’know what? I’ll give it a shot.
