An Outsiders Look Into Phoenix Comicon

Ah, yes. Comic conventions — a swarming geekfest typically held at a giant assemblage center where people will dress up in elaborate costumes for no other reason than to be seen. That is exactly what I thought before my eyes were opened to what really happens.

The Phoenix Comicon “Zombie Walk” Gallery

Some people sign up for 5K runs. Some people sign up for half marathons. Others sign up to walk around dressed up as zombies. Florida High Patrol says the outcome would have been different if he had used his signature ‘Texas pile driver’ on the tree but others disagree due to it being banned from the WWE because, if done incorrectly, it can break necks– plus, they aren’t in Texas.

We’ve all seen Apples incentive for students who are looking to purchase an iMac or Macbook– they get a “free” 8GB iPod Touch! Most would consider that to be an awesome deal but when you’re spending over 1K for a basic computer, it’s almost a slap in the face. There’s only one other company that I can think of who’s willing to go one step further to buy a student’s heart. Oh hello there, Microsoft. Why don’t you take a seat over there, after the break.
