Yeah, you read that correctly.

Blizzard says it will allow players to reach in to their wallets to buy in-game items from the Diablo 3 auction house.

Movie Review: Cowboys & Aliens

Movie Review: Cowboys & Aliens

To be fair, I’m not a big fan of westerns. It’s not that they’re bad films, they’re just not terribly appealing. Dusty men riding horseback across barren wastelands is not enticing. I’m an alien invasion dude. Alien spaceships? Explosions? Pew pew? I’m on board! So when the trailer debuted for Cowboys & Aliens, Jon Favreau’s latest joint (you know, the guy who gave us Iron Man) I was hesitant about the genre mash-up. Unfortunately, and despite its best intentions, the film just isn’t a satisfying venture in either direction.

Nintendo Drops Price On 3DS To Spur Cool Sales. Interested?

Nintendo had their fun. The Wii did great for a time until the limitations of the tech crept in (and Kinect/Move crept out), and their handhelds have traditionally done fine. Until recently. The 3DS debuted earlier this year to a $249.99 MSRP and cool sales. There are any number of variables involved, but Nintendo’s bringing out a drastic price cut to spur sales of their next-gen handheld.

THQ Continues Flailing, Cans Red Faction Series

THQ Continues Flailing, Cans Red Faction Series

Can THQ ever catch a break? It seems that every time they release even the most moderate of gaming hits, they get cocky and blow it all on crummy sequels, cutting their balance sheet short. The newest victim? The shutdown of the Red Faction series a mere two years after its revival got me excited about the company’s prospects.

Gadgets Without A Net: Nick and Cameras

Gadgets Without A Net: Nick and Cameras

This week, we totally stumped ourselves when we decided to write about our favorite gadgets that didn’t have – or rely – on an internet connection. Much harder than you think. Seriously, try it.

Everyone takes pictures, fewer take art. I have a background in design, in which the laws of color and composition must be closely observed for success, but it didn’t catch my attention until much later that these same principles could be applied to photography as well. I still couldn’t recommend a great color palette to save my life, but I love taking pictures.

Seriously, Microsoft Needs To Reconsider Xbox Live Friends

Seriously, Microsoft Needs To Reconsider Xbox Live Friends

Statistically speaking, it’s safe to say you didn’t camp in front of your favorite gaming retailer on November 15th, 2002 to pick up one of the first Xbox Live subscriptions, back when it was $35 for a year, came with a headset and some boring demos. So it’s strange that aside from slight tweaks when the Xbox 360 came out three years later, or when Avatars came out a few years after that, managing friends on the service is about as big a pain now as it was when the service started.

Rob Interviews His 90’s Crush – Erika Eleniak

A month or so ago, we all sat down and wrote “theme” articles on our crushes from the 1990’s. Mine was Erika Eleniak, because…well…read the article and you’ll know why.

After the articles were written and published, I found myself in a short conversation with Erika during which she very gracefully agreed to let me interview her. It took a while to get it done, but we finally got our chance and here’s what happened.

Atlantis Lands, So Does The Space Shuttle Program

Atlantis Lands, So Does The Space Shuttle Program

And so it was that at 5:57AM local time today, the Space Shuttle Atlantis touched down, marking the conclusion of mission STS-135 and the Shuttle program’s thirty year run. As a child of the 90s, the Space Shuttles were the zeitgeist of space travel, constituting not only the national space discussion, but infiltrating pop culture in its various forms as well. Not rockets, not capsules, no men on the moon, they were space planes. It’s the end of an era, as they say and the foggy future of manned space exploration is, well, sad.
