USS Enterprise-D Rebuilt In ‘Minecraft’ at 1:6 Scale, Doesn’t Let Its Small Size Get In The Way
“That’s a negative, Worf!”
Star Trek’s Next Generation is my jam, but Minecraft is, too! What a conflict of interest! No longer! We now have a finished version of Picard’s Enterprise-D at one-sixth scale, wrapped in an elaborate texture pack to complete the illusion.

Rockstar Releases ‘Grand Theft Auto’ Soundtracks To Spotify, iTunes
Okay, you’ll still need to exercise some discretion when finding the official albums, but they’re not hard to find.
I don’t know if you ever looked inside your Grand Theft Auto IV case beyond merely retrieving the disc, but that instruction manual? It has a lot of credits. Like, tons and tons and tons and tons. A huge chunk of them are for all the licensing they had to pull off to get as many songs into the game as they did, literally a soundtrack per radio station in the game. Rockstar just unveiled their soundtracks for purchase or streaming on iTunes and Spotify respectively, but you’ll find, as I did, a few too many missing memories.
‘The Simpsons’ Uses Couch Gag To Parody ‘Breaking Bad’, Wins Heisenberg’s Approval
99% Pure Cupcakes.
The episode doesn’t even air until Sunday, but this latest from The Simpsons may be the coolest one in years. It’s cool that the show’s runners are hip with the coolest stuff though as Breaking Bad finishes its run this summer.
Amazon Bribes Would-Be Kindle Fire Developers With New Virtual ‘Amazon Coins’
Oh great.
It seems odd at a time when Microsoft is rumored to be ditching their fictitious and consumer-unfriendly Points system in favor of hard currency, Amazon is ready to step on with their own surrogate payment system. The goal, like any other virtual dollar, is to get people to convert their real money into a kind of Itchy & Scratchy money that can only be used on Amazon’s Kindle Fire. Of course, they’re promising some great things for app developers.
See This: Get Your Badge On With Egoraptor’s New “PokeAwesome 2”
Deranged? Oh yeah.
A year in the making, as he says, Egoraptor brings us PokeAwesome 2, the long-awaited (I don’t recall getting a newsletter about it) sequel to PokeAwesome. The guy’s amazing and his incredible animation and delightfully perverted story will have you playing this short flick over and over.
CityVille And Other Facebook/Social Games Need A New Genre: The MOMCOT
CityVille is a MOMCOT.
With the rise of Facebook and other social games, mostly strategy titles, like CityVille, War Commander, and Cafe World, we’ve encountered a new breed of game that’s never existed before, one that pines for your dollars in ways never before seen or lets you live with waiting hours for a vital resource to recharge so you can continue to play the game. We’ve come up with so many different ways to brand them, but nothing so distinctive as to accurately pinpoint what kind of a game they are until you’ve already invested far too much time – or potentially given out your credit card number. From the same guy who brought you the November Release Death Schedule – or NeRDS – to describe the onslaught of games during the holiday comes MOMCOT, the new name for what we commonly call Zynga-likes.
New ‘The Hangover Part III’ Trailer Reveals Movie Potentially Tolerable Entertainment
You mean it’s not another retread of an already old plot device? Wow!
Because it’s a movie that’s coming out soon, Warner Bros. is cycling out all kinds of promotional material for The Hangover Part III, including a new trailer a mere month after the big unveil. They didn’t sell me then, they might sell me now.
This Handmade Version Of Fallout Monopoly Is Pretty Rad
Pretty slick!
Fallout is one of my favorite role-playing game series, Monopoly is my favorite board game. Put them together and change up the rules a bit and what do you get? This lovely custom version of Fallout Monopoly that a man spent eight months building for his wife.
Kik Messenger Hits 50M Users, Doesn’t Give An Eff About The Competition
It’s true!
Communication is vital for any company, particularly a startup like ours, so in our earliest days, we knew we needed a good cross-platform communication tool. Kik Messenger filled in and we’ve been using it ever since. A mere five months after adding app “cards” to their messenger to share sketches (usually of poop and butts) and videos, Kik is now reporting they’ve hit 50 million users.
