Same-faction warzones are a subject which has been brought up to you more than once. It’s talked about in the forums, you’ve been emailed about it, tickets have been submitted, calls have been placed, bug reports have been filed and you still aren’t getting this one so I’ll spell it out for you by posting, here, excerpts from an email you were sent about Huttball.
Here it is, with player, server and faction information removed:
The game “Huttball” is fundamentally flawed in the fact that players from the same faction can be on opposite teams. The flaw is that this leads members of those teams to work in collusion with the opposing team, while sharing ventrilo servers and chat, in order to assure that their friends are getting their daily and weekly quest completions.
I have seen this on a number of occasions, instances in which players will pass the ball to lone enemy players with clear line of sight. Instances in which sorcerers will pull their own team mates into the fire or into the pit. Instances in which players will refuse to take the ball, midfield, allowing their friends to get it. These players will then do everything they can to hinder or harass their own team and will refuse to enter into combat against their friends.
I have seen this behavior on numerous enough occasions that it has become clear it is not just a fluke or a one-off situation.
This kind of thing will be inherent in ANY same-faction warzone situation and will continue to get worse as time goes on. As such, I IMPLORE you to strongly reconsider their current and future implementation in the game. This is a game breaker for many people and with word of it already spreading and it becoming rampant on [server name removed], with at least [number and faction removed] guilds using these exploitative tactics, it will soon become too big to control.
Don’t let something so trivial be the death knell of PVP in this game.
This email was sent to you weeks ago so this isn’t something new to you. You know there’s rampant cheating and game fixing in warzones (including speed hacks, invis hacks, latency exploits, etc…) but instead of doing something about it, you choose to make the problem even worse by making all warzones same-faction capable.
This absolutely begs the question – “Are you blind, crazy or willfully ignorant?” It has to be one of the three.
My next topic is about tradeskills and crafting.
I know a lot of people who do biochem and, as such, use the bioanalysis missions a LOT (and note that this also applies to underworld trading and diplomacy). The problem with these missions is that most of the missions don’t get you the things you need. Here’s an example:
At the fifth rank of BA, you only get 2 missions which will net you biochemical samples or compounds. 2. Those missions take half an hour each so every half an hour you can get a couple of the items you need to make your crafted items with. The rest of the missions on those levels are for ancillary items like first aid kits, implant processors and hypo-syringes. Most everyone I know has hundreds upon hundreds of those items because they have to keep going out to get them in order to get the mission level to reset and allow them to go out and get more samples and compounds. Furthermore, they have to keep paying for the missions they don’t need because they have to run the level out in order to get a good reset on the missions, most of the time.
What were you thinking? Did you willfully make the choice to put the screws to players at that level or is this something you’re going to claim you didn’t know about and will reply with YET ANOTHER copy/paste of

I may actually pull out my own teeth and stab myself to death with them if I see a response like that again.
I’m not kidding when I say that I could go on and on about this, all day. Your game is so filled with bugs, glitches and issues that I can’t possibly address even a small percentage of them yet you continually turn a blind eye to the pleas of your player base and, instead of fixing the issues, create more with absurd decisions, bad math and really, really stupid ideas.
You have a whole development team, now, which just finished up ME3 and have nothing to do. Put them to work on un-fucking your MMO and get your game back on track. I know you are riding on cloud 9 because you have big subscription numbers right now and you’ve made a lot of money from the people who have bought your game, now it is time to look to the future and make sure you’re doing everything you can do to ensure the future of the title. That means fixing it, then following through on all of the things you’ve promised.
Also, don’t tell us that guild ships are a “huge undertaking” because they’re not. What you mean to say is “we’re dragging it out to keep you here, spending money”. Don’t treat your players like they’re stupid or like they know nothing about the economics of game design and development…Most MMO players are a LOT smarter and far better informed than you’d ever give them credit for being.
Also, get some of your staff to actually play your game and pay them to be honest with you, even when it hurts. Right now your QA sucks and it’s either because issues aren’t being reported or because you ignore them. Get it right, would ya?
