[RUMOR] The iPhone 5S Is In Production Right Now For August Release

Well, it’s newer.

I guess it shouldn’t come as a surprise now that the iPhone release schedule has been righted following the release of the 4S, but rumors are going around that the iPhone 5S (the “tock” iteration of the major upgrade) is being produced on a component basis at this very moment. Screens, frames, antennae, everything – all are being prepared for a late summer release, which fits in line with the 4S and 5 launches.

Trent Reznor And Beats Audio Making New Music Service Called Daisy, Raised $60m To Do It

The guy who wanted to fuck you like an animal won an Academy Award. Nuts, eh?

In this post-Napster world, music services have become the new record store. Or CD stores, I don’t know, the music place. One of these many services is subscription-based MOG, which Beats Audio purchased last year. While it will continue to be MOG for the time being, it will shift to become Daisy – yes, that’s the real name – later this year. And who’s the Chief Creative Officer behind it? None other than Nine Inch Nails’ Trent Reznor.

Twitter Discontinuing TweetDeck Apps, I Can Not Stop Crying

TweetDeck was one of the first regular Android apps with a widget that served as a landmark on my home screen for years. No longer.

Okay, hang on guys. *sob* Sorry, just have to compose myself a little. *sniff* So, today TweetDeck made the announcement that they would be discontinuing their app across Android, iOS, and the PC, but will maintain their web app for desktops. Despite giving the desktop version a positive note when it released, I haven’t had a reason to keep it open until recently. The loss of the Android app, however, is huge.

Apple No Longer World’s Most Valuable Company, Is Also Doomed

Apple No Longer World’s Most Valuable Company, Is Also Doomed

Doom, gloom, boom, other words.

When someone, whether it’s us or some leading market analyst on CNBC, yammers on about a company’s value, one must always take in a few notes of salt. Following Steve Jobs’ death, Apple’s stock climbed through the roof to a peak of over $700 this past September, with many expecting it to hit $1,000. Of course, stocks will be stocks and much of that value was speculative. Now the price is coming right on back to Earth.

Samsung Just Watched Richie Rich, Wants Galaxy S4 Unveiling To Be Just Like That

OH BOY OH BOY OH BOY

Oh, which kid wouldn’t want to be young Jeremy Maxwell? The rich kid with the all-too-nice chauffeur is tasked with guarding Samsung’s new Galaxy S4, which will undoubtedly be the year’s best-selling phone worldwide. While it seems like there’s just a light bulb inside, Jeremy must guard it against the horrors of mild Suburbia and a pesky neighbor girl who’s “going to get you, Maxwell!” I’m glad someone at Samsung watched Macaulay Culkin films while sick and then spent all night having fevered dreams, because that’s exactly what this ad is. I’ve included it below, natch.

YouTube Does The Harlem Shake on Command

SIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGH

Just when you thought The Harlem Shake meme was over, YouTube steps in to shake things up a bit. Haha, you see what I did there? Also literally. If you go to YouTube and type in “do the harlem shake” without the quotes, the results page will do it. Read the rest of this article…

Is Office 365 Worth $99/year?

Doing work never looked so fun or relaxing.

I’ve had the joy and splendor to preview the entire office suite for the last few months; not because of choice but because it was free and I needed it for school. Microsoft announced that Office 365 will cost around $99/per year (or $9.99/per month) for the Home Premium version. Does Office really need to be updated that often to justify the annual/monthly cost?

Google Glass Listing Pulled from eBay, Spoiler Alert, They’re Not Out Yet

Not pictured: the suckers bidding on this.

Prepare for the onslaught of eBay listing selling Google Glass. Well there has already been one listed but it’s been pulled already with eBay citing presale terms. As in they didn’t have it yet. They claimed that they were picked as an early adopter. I assume they mean with the #ifihadglass campaign, that hasn’t chosen any winners. Read the rest of this article…

Time Warner Cable Says Consumers Don’t Want Gigabit Internet

Let’s pretend that’s internet routes.

Hahahaha hehhh. Sorry, I couldn’t help but laugh. I don’t know where, Time Warner Cable CFO, Irene Esteves, got her information when she said, “we’re in the business of delivering what consumers want, and to stay a little ahead of what we think they will want…we just don’t see the need of delivering that to consumers. We’re already delivering 1 gigabit, 10 gigabit-per-second to our business customers, so we certainly have the capability of doing it.” Read the rest of this article…

I’m Upgrading My Android Phone This Year, But What Do I Get?

I’m Upgrading My Android Phone This Year, But What Do I Get?

The direction I’m leaning. Well, not exactly…

It’s been nearly a year since I told people to not buy a phone. The first half of the year is crowded with price cuts and secondary phone makers who are only bringing an extra half-step with their post-holiday offerings. That said, I don’t qualify for an upgrade until the end of August, so that’s giving me a lot of time to ponder the offerings and whittle down what I want in my next phone. Let me at least block out some absolute choices here.
