The New iPhone is Most Certainly, Possibly, Will be Released on September 21st, Maybe

Apples are good for you, I’ve heard.

TechCrunch is reporting that September 21st, the new iPhone will launch. They received word from a Verizon employee who said no vacation days are available starting September 21st. I believe it. This is just like what happened on previous launches at both Sprint and Verizon and is in tune with last years announcement and release. Read the rest of this article…

Windows Phone To Surpass Blackberry By December, Dominate Distant Third Place

Things are coming up Ballmer!

Believe it or not, based on WMPoweruser’s calculations, Windows Phone will surpass the Blackberry platform not long after Thanksgiving. We’ve talked about plotted dominance before and didn’t quite come off as accurate, but this trajectory seems far more accurate. The summary here isn’t that Windows Phone is winning so much as Blackberry is really failing.

Banned From Google & No Support in Sight

Not the screen you want to see.

A couple of days ago we were notified by Google that our AdSense account was disabled for reasons unknown. What? How is this possible. Then I thought, well this is no good because I have never heard of anyone getting reinstated after this, even after appealing. I get another email a few hours later on my personal Gmail account from AdSense telling me that it was also disabled. The same message. Are you kidding me? Read the rest of this article…

Campaign To Build Tesla Museum Hits $450k In Under Two Days

It’s a lot of money.

Who knew crowdsourcing initiatives who could be so awesome? Yesterday, John Inman, known more commonly as web artist The Oatmeal, set out to help a non-profit purchase the grounds under Nikola Tesla’s former Wardenclyffe, New York facility.

If This is Going to be the New iPhone, I Don’t Want It

This can’t be the iPhone 5

I don’t normally like to report on rumors but that’s not what this is. I just want to vent my frustrations on what may or may not be the new iPhone that is set to release in September. I feel strongly that what you see above is what the new iPhone will look like and that frustrates the hell out of me. Read the rest of this article…

Facedeals Checks You In With Facial Recognition

Ad agency, Redpepper is testing out a facial recognition Facebook check-in system a a few businesses in Nashville. It’s really cool but also creepy at the same time. After being recognized at a supporting business you will receive the deal via text message as well as being checked into the location on your timeline. I have wanted a proximity check-in system for Foursquare for a while now. Read the rest of this article…

HTC G1 Owners Rejoice! Jelly Bean Is Now (Sorta) Available!

Ha! Ha! Take that newer Android owners!!!!

While most of us are still waiting for our port of Jelly Bean, the first Android phone, HTC’s G1, has had the lovely new OS (that comes standard on the Nexus 7) whittled onto it by the crafty fellows over at XDA-Developers. Yeah, it’s nuts.

Spotify Radio Needs Some Work, Pandora Fans Need Not Worry

*uncontrollable dry heaving*

I’ve had my share of suggestions for Spotify since they stole my heart from the Zune Pass after nearly half a decade. Don’t get me wrong, I think Spotify is a solid service (even if listens keep disappearing from Facebook, but sigh) and I applaud that they’ve been working on stuff, but Spotify’s newer Radio feature need some lovin’, yo.

Leo Laporte Refuses To Let Ex-G4’ers Sessler, Pereira On TWiT, Says They’re ‘Tainted’

Leo Laporte Refuses To Let Ex-G4’ers Sessler, Pereira On TWiT, Says They’re ‘Tainted’

Laporte seems lost.

The G4 absorption of TechTV was not a happy one. Here was a ‘hip with the kids’ network devoted to gaming devouring a respectable channel with tons of tech-related content. The path was complicated, but many of the TechTV staff left on word that they’d have to relocate from their San Francisco home to Los Angeles, among them Leo Laporte, who would later form the This Week in Tech network of video/podcasts. Leo seems like a real nice guy, but a recent remark about his former labelmates came across as quite uncouth.

The YouTube App Getting Pulled from iOS 6, About Time

Go away please.

Well it won’t be pre-loaded at least. The YouTube app is probably the worst thing in iOS with not being able to choose what browser a link opens in as a close second. Apple said: “Our license to include the YouTube app in iOS has ended. Customers can use YouTube in the Safari browser and Google is working on a new YouTube app to be on the app store.” Read the rest of this article…
