From the Ashes of Megaupload, Out Comes Megabox

It’s the “cloud,” the mysterious place the internet lives!

Kim Dotcom is back as promised saying his new website, Megabox, will be out soon. Megabox will be a place for artists to upload their music and make more money on it than they do with iTunes or similar platforms. Users will be able to buy music cheaper than they can from iTunes and others and even get it for free by installing an application that replaces other sites ads with ads from Megabox. Jelly Bean OTA Update Finally Arrives On Verizon’s Galaxy Nexus

Jelly Bean, baby!

I’d been pondering for the past few weeks whether I wanted to root my Galaxy Nexus, slap on Clockwork Mod, find a good Jelly Bean ROM, and then go through the hassle of re-downloading all my apps and changing all my preferences. This morning as I woke up, I was spared such a fate when my phone woke me up with a system update, JRO30O in particular, right over the air. Within ten minutes, my phone was in Jelly Bean land, finally.

Kickstarter Wants You to Know Projects Fail, They’re Not a Store

Not a store!

Kickstarter is a crowdfunding website for people to raise money for a project. There has been a lot of cool things to come from Kickstarter projects and we have even backed some ourselves. But people have been complaining because on projects that have been successfully funded people haven’t received what was in the Kickstarter or it has been significantly different. Samsung Back With Them Fighting Words At iPhone Owners

Headphone jack on the bottom? Mind blown!

Last year when the iPhone 4S was coming out, Samsung started a campaign called “The Next Big Thing is Already Here” touting the Samsung Galaxy II. They were hitting on the battery issues, screen size and the big one, 4G speeds. Well Samsung is back and this time it’s for the Galaxy S III and instead of saying you’re a hipster if you buy an iPhone 4S, they are hinting that older people are getting this phone and it’s not cool anymore. LIFX is Looking to Reinvent the Light Bulb

What? How do you reinvent the light bulb you may ask yourself? LED’s, my good friend! I honestly don’t know why this hasn’t come around before, we have LED flashlights and LED headlights on our cars but we still stick with incandescent bulbs or CFL’s that are like super dangerous. Maybe people have tried LED light bulbs but they haven’t made any as cool and smart as these from LIFX. Read the rest of this article…

Google / Youtube And Copyright Claims – Could You POSSIBLY Fail Harder?

Looks like the Spanish Inquisition is in town.

I was bouncing around on Facebook today when I saw a post by my favorite classical pianist and subject of much musical lust, Valentina Lisitsa. Yes, I listen to classical music, yes I love it. Chopin’s nocturnes make my heart run through a field of daisies and if you have anything to say about it, I’ll slap you in the forehead with a tack-hammer.

Valentina mentioned that she has been hit with a copyright claim from Sony Music Entertainment regarding a recording she made, playing a piece by Mozart.

WHAT?!

Warning – Harsh language ahead.

iPhone 5 is Official & Why I Wont Be Buying It

Well, it’s taller.

Today I sat and watched the entire Apple press conference from my desk wanting more. Yes, hooray, the iPhone 5 is coming and there are some updates. My issue is there was nothing groundbreaking. Before I go on lets get the details out there. The new iPhone, the iPhone 5 will be out on September 21st. Boasting a 4″ screen, A6 processor, 8 megapixel camera, Lightning connector, redesigned ear phones and iOS 6, it was my gadget of the year. That is until closer to today when rumors showed it off.
