Here’s one for the WTF category: A couple of artists in Helsinki kidnapped a Ronald McDonald statue from a local restaurant and made a video Al Qaeda style demanding McDonald’s to answer two simple question or they would behead the statue and put it on YouTube (videos after the jump).
- Why are you not open about the manufacturing process, raw materials and additives used in your products?
- How many tons of un-recycled waste you produce per year?
Of Course McDonald’s didn’t answer the questions and the Finnish Police arrested two of the artists and recovered the statue but the artists built a replica and decapitated and put the video on YouTube.
A McDonald’s spokesman had this to say:
McDonald’s is always available to engage in constructive conversations with our customers, stakeholders and the media. This stunt is in very poor taste and not a responsible approach to meaningful dialogue.
Meanwhile, we are focused on our customers and are fully transparent about our high quality food and industry-leading standards and practices.
So yeah…
