Sons Of Anarchy – Season 4 Continues

Sons of Anarchy…Last week I wrote a piece about Sons heating up and the the excitement that is to come. I also said that I’d be writing articles each week and that there would be some spoilers.

I won’t be dropping huge spoilers on the recent episodes but if you don’t want some things revealed, read on with caution.

OnLive Gives Code For 50% Off Games

OnLive, the rising star of on demand game services, has virally shared a code that will give everyone 50% off of any PlayPass purchase. This is great news for those who’ve been using the service thanks to the free Deus Ex/GameStop advertisement. So what’s the catch? There’s only two cons — you have until midnight to purchase games with the code and you have a choice of 100 titles to choose from. I guess those aren’t really cons per se, but you won’t have all day to think about it!

Oh. You want to know the code? Fine, make me have to find it for you. I see how it is. The promo code is bioshock. You happy now? Good, now let us know what game you decided to purchase!

Gears Of War 3 Takes DLC Too Far

Gears Of War 3 Takes DLC Too Far

There was a time, believe it or not, when games were shipped with full fledged manuals, a cartridge or disc and enough time to finish the game before a sequel was conceived. It wasn’t until the Xbox 360 and PS3 that consumers were introduced to a double edge sword known as downloadable content. The idea of DLC is to help bring a game’s life back from the grave by squeezing more replay value out of it. However, the release of Gears of War 3 shows just how ridiculous DLC can be and why it can turn a good idea into a bad one.

15 Minutes (Or So) With Diablo 3 – With Gameplay Video

As we announced on twitter, we have been given a Diablo 3 beta key (Thanks for hooking that up, Kelly) and will be presenting screenshots, videos and info between now and launch.

As part of that, I installed the beta, fired it up and made a gameplay video which spans from character creation through the end of the first quest, with a little bit of commentary from yours truly.

Check the video, after the jump.

Facebook To Change Layout Again, Millions To Whine Violently For Next Week

Man, I pine for the AOL days (not the Aol days, mind you) where every eighteen months brought you a whole new version of America’s favorite dial-up provider with a shiny, slightly larger version number along with slightly iterated graphics. Also: advertised everywhere. Yeah, boy! It seems strange that time is not kind to change as we’re still over a day away from Facebook’s annual f8 developer conference (where they traditionally unveil their biggest service changes) and somehow there are people already up in arms over the partial list of changes the social network will be implementing soon.

Those people are silly.

Gears 3 Multiplayer Explored – The Good, The Bad, The Ugly.

Gears of War 3 and multiplayer…Peanut butter and jelly? Peas and Carrots? Captain and Tennille? Yeah, something like that.

Gears 3 picks up the torch carried by its predecessor, which lit the way for so many gamers…And then throws it into a huge vat of kerosene which then boils water which powers a steam turbine which creates electricity and lights up the whole damned city.

Google+ No Longer Invitation-Only, Also No Longer Cool

Remember 3-months ago when you’d do anything to get your hands on a Google+ invitation? Well, good news to those considering selling your soul for an invite — Google’s social networking service has transitioned from field test to beta bearing new features that’ll leave you saying “I was using Google+ before it was cool”.

Zynga Launching Mafia Wars 2

Zynga Launching Mafia Wars 2

There is nothing official from their website but I got an email from Zynga saying that I’m in the founders club, yay? It’s a smart move for Zynga because Mafia Wars is slowly declining in usage. Right now only about 5.5 million people play the game. Mafia Wars at it’s peak had over 28 million people playing and I quit playing when everything just turned into the same thing. Review Time – Gears Of War 3 Campaign Mode

Well, I’ve just sat down and started playing Gears Of War 3 so I’m going to review as I go. The game fired up and did a quick update and then I was in. One thing I liked, straight away, is that there’s a video you can choose to watch which catches you up to the current events. It talks about everything from Gears 1 to current day – 18 months after the events of Gears 2 – with a nice cut-scene.
