Virgin Mobile To Reduce Unlimited Data

Virgin Mobile’s all-you-can-eat data plan has apparently run it’s last course. Beginning March 23rd, VM will throttle the living piss out of their phones across the United States when data usage spills over 2.5GB’s. This will certainly put a damper on people who pay $25 or $35/month for an unlimited hot spot. What can you expect to happen once the dreaded date arrives? How will you be affected? And is Virgin Mobile really after your data cherry? I tried so hard to fit in a virgin joke and it failed miserably. Dammit.

New USPS Ad Attacking Email Because Viruses Are Scary

USPS is obviously not targeting my generation because I will honestly forger about a bill if it’s on a piece of paper and not in my email. The ad starts off saying that a refrigerator has never been hack. Lets say that it’s never been hacked yet but I’m sure when the prices of connected fridges drop someone will hack them to spoil your milk because they can. Read the rest of this article…

Rumor – The End of Microsoft Points

A few days ago, we challenged Microsoft to do away with the annoying Microsoft Points currency system that they use on Xbox Live, Zune and Games for Windows. According to the latest rumor out of Redmond, it looks like Microsoft may be rising to that challenge and abandoning Microsoft Points.

BeastRig Announces Their Beastrig Line Of Gaming PC’s

So, you’ve been playing SWTOR for a few weeks now and you’re getting little tired of getting ganked into the middle of unholy shit ratchet by the zit-faced 12 year olds with their high end computers their mommy and daddy bought them for Christmas as a reward for not getting straight F’s for the sixth semester in a row, right? Well, there’s help!

File Sharing Disabled For FileSonic, FileServe & More

File Sharing Disabled For FileSonic, FileServe & More

Well, it was only a matter of time. As inevitable as it seems, file sharing websites similar to Megaupload might follow suit. After witnessing the capture of Mr. Dotcom, owners of many file sharing sites are frantically disabling that “evil” functionality — allowing the user to upload and download personal items. I can only imagine people wanting to share high resolution pictures of certain events to friends and family through FileSonic but being forced to individually attach said photos to 30 different e-mails instead. I’m still bitter.

MPAA Openly Threatens to Pull Funding From Politicians Who Oppose Them

Chris Dodd, head of the Motion Picture Association of America, was on Fox News and publicly threatened to cut funding to politicians who don’t support what they want them to support. Seriously. Dodd’s said “Those who count on quote ‘Hollywood’ for support need to understand that this industry is watching very carefully who’s going to stand up for them when their job is at stake. Don’t ask me to write a check for you when you think your job is at risk and then don’t pay any attention to me when my job is at stake.” Read the rest of this article…

Crazy List of Items Seized in Megaupload Bust Worth Over $3 Million

Yesterday after Megaupload was shut down and the Organised and Financial Crime Agency of New Zealand arrested founder Kim Schmitz and others they seized a buch of property. Now I’m not saying that I would want to be in jail right now but I wish I created Megaupload because then I would be rich enough to afford the ridiculous items that he had. I did a little math and found out the stuff on the list totals over $3,033,000! Read the rest of this article…

iFixit.org: a Noble Endeavor

I received an e-mail from the folks at iFixit yesterday morning, which got me salivating for the inevitable tech porn of gadgets being disassembled to bare their wonderful innards, but I was surprised to find something very different. Normally, iFixit.com is the place to go to order repair kits for Apple Products, or Game Consoles, or Cell Phone, but today they announced a new site, iFixit.org, which is highlighting something even more special than the latest bling in a gadget – the men and women of the world who repair instead of throw away.

Got AT&T? Get Ready to Pay More

AT&T abandoned a $39 billion dollar bid to buy T-Mobile last month, but they seem to have taken to heart T-Mobile’s tagline “Get More.” In this case, they want you to “Pay More” because starting in just a few days, AT&T will be raising prices for new smartphone and tablet users.

Anonymous Strikes Back. RIAA, MPAA, Universal Music, Department of Justice Websites Offline

We told you earlier that the FBI shutdown Megaupload and charged seven people with conspiracy to commit racketeering and criminal copyright infringement. Anonymous has come together to strike back quickly. Right now the websites of the Department of Justice, MPAA, RIAA and Universal Music Group are down. I’m not sure if there are more in the works but we are watching the Twitterverse for more. Read the rest of this article…
