The Nintendo 3DS XL, A Stab In The Dark
I’ve expressed my thoughts on the 3DS during E3 with Nintendo demonstrating they weren’t joyous about the handheld’s future. But the reality is here: the 3DS is Nintendo’s main handheld and Nintendo needs a main handheld to keep their margins thick. Nintendo iterates on their hardware more often than they release flagship Mario titles and this new, gargantuan 3DS that features screens that feature nearly double the real estate as their previous iteration. Is this a stroke of genius?

Bullet Run Beta – First Impressions
Bullet Run. Lots of bodies…Lots and LOTS of bodies.
Well, the beta for Bullet Run is now underway and I’ve had a good change to sink my teeth into it. I’ve played now for several hours, through both the Domination and Team Deathmatch modes and, as you might guess, I have an opinion.
So here it is.

Nexus Q Challenges Our Opinions On Tech Made Overseas
Google’s new streaming box, the Nexus Q. Photo credit: Anandtech
At their big I/O conference, among other things, Google announced the Nexus Q, a new streaming box. It’s a bizarre looking little ball with a variety of cords that stream from its rear, designed to be not only a competitor to Boxee, Roku, and Apple TV, but also a handy device that allows your Android phone to interface with your TV/home theater setup. The biggest difference to most people, aside from the ecosystem, is that they’re being made in the United States and there’s a premium price that comes with that.

Google Project Glass Demo – The Live Event…Also, Price Announced…Sorta.
DO…WANT!!! The glasses, too…
I’ve just finished up watching the Google Glass portion of the Google I/O 2012 event. I’m finding it really hard to put into words what I think of this technology and the demo they threw together so I’m just going to quote what I said to the other guys from FEZ…
“I’ve pissed myself 14 times since 11:00”
That was at 11:29.

More Planetside 2 Goodness – The E3 2012 Theater Video
The Vanu Heavy Assaulter. Pray for a quick death, scumbags.
For those of you who couldn’t make it to E3 2012, you missed a lot, as we are sure you know. Among the things you missed were a vast number of behind-closed-doors, theater style videos which highlighted the upcoming goodness of the games they were representing.
For many games, the vast majority of gamers will never get to see the videos we journalists got to view. In the case of Planetside 2, however, Sony Online Entertainment has seen fit to release the theater video to the public and we have a copy of it for your enjoyment.

Skyrim Rises Again With Dawnguard – The Brand New Expansion – Some Spoilers
MOAR SKYRIM!!! Back into hybernation for millions!
Months and months ago, I wrote a funny little article about Skyrim and what was going to happen when it released. Five Things A 24-Hour Star Trek Movie Marathon Will Teach You
This past weekend I engaged in some major crazy Star Trek movie marathoning. Most of them I hadn’t seen in almost a decade and never had I seen more than three consecutively. I lived (somehow), but by the time everything was over – well, any time you commit twenty-four hours to something like that – you get slightly disoriented and then, well, your weekend is over. It’s hard to recommend such an epic task, but I learned some things about Star Trek in doing so.

Post-E3-2012 Shenanigans…New Games Coming!
We all know a lot of crazy stuff went down at E3 and we all know that, during the hustle and bustle of the largest gaming show in the world, a lot of things can get lost in the mix. Of course they do…and when they do, we get to spend some time playing catch up on some of the one which slip through the cracks.
Here it is, just a couple of weeks after E3 and we’ve been asked to review a few titles which got buried, between the launch of a particular Blizzard game and the big show.

Shiny Toy Guns’ “Waiting Alone” – The First Single Off III – Is Available Now
It’s about bloody time. Many like myself have been waiting ages for the newest Shiny Toy Guns album – only their third ever – to finally emerge from the shroud of darkness and infiltrate our music players. The album, appropriately titled III, was on my watchlist last year when it was still slated for summer. Then it slid to fall. And then spring, and then we’re back at summer again and it’s still not out. They’re announcing the release date tomorrow, but it’s looking like Fall again now. Seriously guys, c’mon.

Microsoft Buys Yammer & People Flip Out For No Reason
It was just a matter of time until the enterprise social network, Yammer was to be acquired. Microsoft was the one to pull the trigger buying Yammer for $1.2 billion in cash. It’s funny to see people that have never heard of Yammer flip out on Microsoft for buying a social network. Let me break this down for people who have no idea so they don’t sound dumb in comments on other websites. Read the rest of this article…
