Why are we reporting on this when there are so many other fires happening in the country? Well, we are kind of based out of Colorado Springs and this is kind of a big deal here like it would be in any other city. I’m going to keep everyone updated with everything going on and may live-blog it tomorrow. Email me details and photos to kelly[at]flesheatingzipper[dot]com. Read the rest of this article…

The Oldest Gaming Group In The World
The Musketeers. They’ve been around a LONG time.
…They’ve Been Around Longer Than You May Think.
When we talk about gamers, these days, some people think about kids sitting around their parents’ house, isolated, hiding from society. These people think gamers are cut off and living in a self-imposed banishment, out of the eyes and spotlight of the world.
This couldn’t be further from the truth, in many instances. At E3, I interviewed the founder of an organization called “Extra-Life”, which spends all of its energy on sick children and gaining the help of gamers across the planet to raise money to help those kids. During that interview, Jeromy pointed out that gamers are actually some of the most socially connected people in the world and he’s right.

Brave Review: Does a Bear Crap in the Woods?
Warning: This review contains some pretty massive spoilers. I was initially on the fence about spilling any plot twists in this review, because Pixar went to such great lengths to avoid allowing any such material to infiltrate their advertising campaign for the Brave. In this era of spoiler-tastic movie trailers and commercials, I thought that Pixar’s effort to preserve some mystery about the movie was commendable. After seeing Brave with my own eyes, I believe that the second half of the movie wasn’t kept under wraps because the studio wanted audiences to be pleasantly surprised. I believe the second half of the film was suppressed because it sucks.

Facebook Edit History Won’t Let You Troll Anymore
Facebook is now rolling out edit history across the board. What does that do exactly you might ask? Well, if you edit one of your comments it will keep a history of the changes for all to see. So if you are like me and quick to hit enter before you are done with thoughts then there will be a trail for everyone to look at. One thing I noticed was, if you delete a comment there is no history so might as well delete them and try again. That won’t help if you are trying to troll people though. Take a look at the screen shot below. Read the rest of this article…
Why We’re Staying Away From The Official Facebook Plugin for WordPress, For Now
Our site, like 5 million+ others uses WordPress for our CMS of choice. We (read I) have extended WordPress beyond it’s basic posts and pages functionality to use custom post types for our different sections and a countless other modifications to make it work the way we want it to work. We use a lot of Facebook plugins like comments, like boxes and buttons so naturally I was excited when Nick let me know that Facebook has finally come out with an official plugin. That was until I read the support forum. Read the rest of this article…
