The HTC EVO 4G was a pretty big deal last year — everyone just loved the powerfully thin phone with the 4.3″ screen, that it happened to be the your first phone to use your much-vaunted WiMax-based 4G network was a plus. You made the smaller EVO Shift to fill out the keyboard-needing market, but this year you decide that an EVO-branded future relies on a 3D cellphone (what?) and yet another tablet that will fail miserably against the iPad.

Don’t You Remember Malls?

Y’know, there was a time when malls were bastions of activity — long before the internet, long before two or three store fronts were merged to form chintzy go-kart tracks. I feel sad when I walk into one of our local establishments and stare at the empty halls and store fronts with For Lease signs, but 21 years ago, Michael Galinksy set out to document the mall in its prime. What follows is a robust exhibit of a time that was and never will be again.

Not that we’ll miss malls – those hives of scum and villainy – but we can at least be nostalgic about them.
