Spellirium (PC) Preview: A Clever Classic Adventure With… A Word Game?
It’s not a yeti, it’s a tunk. Big difference.
Yo dawg, I heard you like classic adventure games and word games, so we put a word game in your classic- you get the idea. Being touted by the gaming elite, including Double Fine’s Tim Schafer and Penny Arcade’s Jerry Holkins (Tycho), Spellirium is a witty adventure game much like those old LucasArts and Sierra titles. In keeping with the times, the game resorts to a tile-based word game, which will either make you cheer or squirm. As a Scrabble non-afficianado, It made me squirm.

No New Apple Products Until Fall Is A Bummer
Except not.
Apple is sitting on $146 billion. It’s a lot of money. It’s not all necessarily within arm’s reach and (now) a huge chunk of it is going to investors, to the tune of an additional $50 billion, but there was some bad news on Apple’s earnings call today. That they made less money year over year is simply a sign of their times, but the worst news came when Tim Cook announced they won’t have any new products until at least September. I’m not even an Apple fan, but yish.

Pizza Hut (Xbox 360) App Review: Yo Dog, Order Pizza Hut From Your Xbox
You want pepperoni in your pizza? Fine, whatever man!
Pizza Hut is no stranger to blending in with new gaming technology. In a move that will no doubt be mentioned in a thousand other Pizza Hut app announcements, they brought the /pizza command to Sony Online Entertainment’s EverQuest 2 nearly a decade ago, highlighting how lazy and fat gamers are, because of course. Sure, Pizza Hut isn’t the only chain pie maker with an app on various platforms. Sure, Pizza Hut doesn’t have Dominos’ famous Pizza Tracker. You know what Pizza Hut has? An app where you can order pizza through your console. Right on.

Shinji Mikami Wants To Breathe New Life Into Survival Horror Games With ‘The Evil Within’
Oh, do I love me some horror. Most gamers probably scoff at the idea of going into a game environment made to illicit fear, but for me, there’s something enjoyable and satisfying about it. For me, the experience of running around a hazy warren of death and mayhem, dark corridors saturated in grime and mystery, or simply moving about an old house with a shady past is sort of a fantasy of mine, though it’s waned as I’ve grown older. Still, a good horror game with omnipresent mystery and intrigue is very attractive to me. Read the rest of this article…
Jon Stewart Versus CNN Highlights What’s Wrong With 24-Hour News
I’m so glad I don’t have cable.
I’ve mentioned it before, but I was an MSNBC junkie. When even the smallest news-worthy event happened – usually something violent – John Gibson or whichever anchor was on-hand would stop whatever interview they were doing, they’d cut away with a Breaking News animation, and some new graphics would fly on screen to TL;DR us on the sitch. I thought it was incredibly interesting to watch, especially when I’d be tuned in for an entire afternoon at a time, but fifteen years later, I realize the necessity of the 24-hour news network is less and less as the internet brings us updates up to the minute, something we talked about on the last PRO SHO.

Don’t you remember when iPhones only had four rows of buttons?
Remember Antennagate, the iPhone’s first big scandal? Okay, so it was a bit hyped up by the media (not us, obviously), but Apple wound up losing a $53 million lawsuit about the issue, which means that the complaints must have had some kind of merit, right? Well, now it’s time for Apple to start writing checks and if you made a claim, yours should be on its way!

Has it seriously been a week and a half since the last controversial elimination? It sure has!
