AMC To Give Free Popcorn This Weekend In Celebration Of Tax Day
FREE POPCORN KERNELS
Did you know that taxes are due Monday? I didn’t, but thanks to AMC, I do now. Unfortunately. AMC, a chain of movie theaters, announced that in celebration of ending the tax season, small popcorns (yes, you can use this as a plural! Why don’t you stop me!) will be on the house this weekend!

Japan’s Girlfriend Coat Is Real, But You’ll Still Be Forever Alone
We all need somebody to love. like a mechanically augmented garment.
We embraced with a kiss. “Oh baby, I love you so much.” I said. “I love you, too,” she replied. Two weeks later, she dumped me from the comfort of her parents’ home 1500 miles away. Ever since, I’ve tried to replicate the intimacy of a knowing, loving soul mate and girlfriend. Now I realize that I was chasing the wrong river, barking up the wrong tree and so forth, I needed a specially-equipped trenchcoat to help me through my grief. To be my companion.

Why Can’t Google Fiber And AT&T Fight Over My Neighborhood?
I need more lanes on my information super highway to get to cyberspace, if you know what I mean!
I’m greedy. I want exactly what I want at all times. Case in point, I want gigabit internet (that’s 1,000Mbps down and 1,000Mbps) here in Phoenix and I want it here immediately. As a CableCo subscriber and former CableCo employer, I know for a fact that Cox Cable and CenturyLink aren’t going to bother unless a newcomer arrives to disrupt the market, which may be a while.

Bioware Co-Founder Gary Zeschuk Defends Everything Bioware Did, Says EA Not To Blame
Star Wars: The Old Republic shouldn’t be blamed for bringing down John Riccitello, Zeshuk says.
Post-Electronic Arts Bioware has been the subject of a lot of controversy over the years. Once known as a nearly flawless golden standard in the vein of Blizzard or the late LucasArts, Bioware has been under some intense scrutiny because of a variety of choices the company made. Calm as a cucumber, Gary Zeschuk, one half of Two Doctors That Founded Bioware, denies that Electronic Arts influenced their brand or ruined their fortunes after the acquisition, despite having quit the company last year amongst popular suspicions that they were doing just that.

Foxconn Revenues Are Down Because iPhone Revenues Are Down
It seems odd that Apple announcements would ever deplete in value, but…
Hon Hal Industries, known to most as Foxconn, reported that revenues were down over 18% over last year. Why? Because iPhone sales are reaching their peak.

‘Hardcore Pawn’ Hits 100th Episode, 4 Million Viewers And Is Still Absolutely Stupid
Oh my goooooooooooood…
People are so stupid. I’m serious. Collectively, and I’m generalizing here, we complain about the sheer amount of garbage on television, but then we tune into programs like Maury, Storage Wars, Duck Dynasty (yeah, I went there!) and Hardcore Pawn because they’re “our guilty pleasure”. Ladies and gentlemen, your guilty pleasures are destroying America.

‘Dota 2’ Surpasses ‘League Of Legends’ As Most-Played PC Game In America, Depending On Who You Ask
Just… so many!
Take a look around at any social activity service, such as activity-sharing chat service Xfire, and you’ll get different numbers, but according to analyst firm DFC Intelligence, Valve’s Dota 2 is now the most-played game in North America, surpassing Riot Games’ League of Legends, the long-time champion. Actually, depending on who you ask, League of Legends is still on top. Whoever’s on top, it’s crazy to see two free-to-play MOBAs at the top of the charts.

Motocross Madness (XBLA) Review: This Ain’t Your Pappy’s Dirt Bike Experience
Finally, a new Madness game!
By all accounts, Motocross Madness shouldn’t exist. Microsoft ditched the Madness branding in the early aughts and motocross games evaporated with Rainbow Studios – the talent behind the original Motocross Madness games and the MX vs. ATV games for THQ. This left a pretty big hole in the extreme sports category – alongside snowboarding – where the global supply of ‘ramping up hills’ and ‘pulling off gnarly stunts over and over’ was cut off to gamers entirely. After all this, an interesting question arises: if I never loved this genre, why am I giving it a shot now? Because Motocross Madness is pretty damn fun.

Roberts Space Industries Shows Off Character Animation
Lunge 2…3…4…
I wrote an article yesterday in which I discussed the customization issues which have plagued MMO games since their early days and have only gotten worse over the years. Another prevalent issue in MMOs – and indeed, in games in general – has been character animation. I have always found that the characters were either animated in a very unnatural fashion or had oddly disproportionate parts, like a male character who has big biceps, bowling ball shoulders and forearms like toothpicks or no big forearms, no neck and tiny little biceps.

Evoland (PC) Review: A Decent Tribute, An Under-Cooked Game
Remember that brief pocket of time when pre-rendered 3D backgrounds were so hot? Yep, Evoland has them.
There’s a character standing alone in a monochrome display. You’re told to move him right, then left. Up, down, all around. Over the course of hours, Evoland introduces you to new features, better graphics and more health as it takes you down a road inspired by twenty-five years of role-playing games. Unfortunately, it doesn’t make for a good game on its own merits.
