Adam Sessler’s Roundtable Discussion With ‘X-COM’ And ‘XCOM’ Creators Is Must-See
XCOM’s Solomon, X-COM’s Gallop, Rev3’s Sessler. Here we go.
During last week’s GDC, Revision3’s Adam Sessler got to sit down with two pretty notable figures in gaming. Jake Solomon, the director/producer of last year’s really good XCOM: Enemy Unknown got to sit down next to Julian Gallop, co-creator of the original X-COM: UFO Defense twenty years ago. For both Solomon and myself, the thought of being next to the creator of our favorite game of all time was a pretty elevating experience.

It’s time for the Eliminator!

Starbreeze Says “Games Are Too Long”, They’re Kinda Right
Syndicate wasn’t long by any stretch of the imagination.
After the commercial failure of Syndicate, a game I enjoyed, it seems fitting that Starbreeze is taking on a whole new direction with Brothers: A Tale Of Two Brothers. In an interview with PC Gamer, one you should read, Filmmaker Josef Fares, who’s working with the developer to create the game, delivers a battery of opinions about the industry (like how motion controllers like the Kinect and Move “are bullshit”), but the one that struck me was about how games are being padded for length, something I can definitely agree with.

Disney/Pixar Tease ‘Finding Dory’, Due Out November 25, 2015
Is she lost? Is that a question?
Looks like Conan O’Brien is gonna have company! Taking place a year after the original Finding Nemo, and releasing twelve years after that film, Disney and Pixar’s newly unveiled animated feature will once-again star Ellen Degeneres as the blue fish with short-term memory issues. I’m actually kinda excited despite not really enjoying Finding Nemo when it released.

Watching House of Cards over the course of two days (and loving it), it had never crossed my mind that at some point, the rights to the physical release may have been purchased. ‘Pineapple Express 2’ Coming Out? Oh Wait, What Day is it Again?
A sequel, you say?
Y’know, after telling yourself everything on the internet is an April Fools’ joke over and over, you sometimes get caught thinking you’ve stumbled upon something real. That was my initial thought when I clicked the play button for Pineapple Express 2. I quickly gathered what it was for before they flashed the “April Fools” at us. Read the rest of this article…
