Google+ Hangouts Get Remote Support, Now You Can Chat While Helping Out Friends and Family

It’s not that I don’t have any friends, I was just too impatient to wait for someone to connect to me.

Google+ Hangouts, that cool video chat software that lets you virtually hang out with friends, got a little cooler today. While in a Hangout, you’ll notice an app on the left to start a remote desktop session. Once the other party accepts the invite, you can start clicking away on their computer pretty darn quick. RUMOR: ‘Full Throttle’, Perhaps Other LucasArts Classics Coming Soon To GOG/Steam?

“You know I’d be on a bike right now if it weren’t for my… destabilizing inner-ear condition…”

LucasArts may be dead, but it still has a massive library of games that are simply sitting on a shelf being unmonetized and unadapted to new computers everywhere. What a lost opportunity! Well, it looks like Night Dive Studios, the guys behind the recent System Shock 2 resurrection (which we told you about!) are at it again with a tease for a Full Throttle port!

The New Tabs in Gmail Suck

You’re worthless!

At the beginning of June, Gmail started rolling out its new tabbed inbox. I thought it was cool at first, but now it’s just a pain in the ass. Facebook Home Is Dead

They just couldn’t make it work out.

Facebook Home is an interesting idea. Notice I didn’t say that in the past tense because their effort is still ongoing with monthly updates now three months after it debuted. Their Android launcher/conversion kit was built on a lot of interesting ideas within Facebook and designed for the user who really just uses their phone to check on friend statuses and News Feeds. Unfortunately, it looks like much of that initial spice is gone now and it’s going to be an even tougher uphill battle to get things done. Here’s what happened.

‘Dark Matter’ Kickstarts: This Is Why You Should Back This Metroid-vania Shooter

You’re not quite alone here…

The world isn’t short on Metroidvania-style adventure games, but few are quite as taut as this one. They sent over a (very) early for me to try out and while I’d once been unconvinced, an hour with the game swayed me. Let me explain what makes Dark Matter unique.

Facebook Has #Hashtags Now, But Are You Using Them?

#noonecares

Twitter launched with hashtag functionality and the ecosystem – from users to developers – learned to use them. There’s a place for them on Twitter, but what about Facebook? I used to laugh at people on Zuckerberg’s network that used hashtags. What is this, Twitter? Get out of here with you hashtags! Years later, Facebook rolled out Graph Search, which is hardly impressive on its own, but adding hashtags to that mix seems to be the best option to get people to use it. But are they? 5 Games Microsoft Should Bring To Android And iOS

Bring these games over, Microsoft!

When word got out that Microsoft was secretly deploying their games – including Age of Empires – in Asia on Android and iOS, people went crazy. Maybe not quite that far, but while Microsoft has been playing the field for a while, the idea of bringing some of their Xbox-only franchises to platforms they don’t complete with (no, Windows Phone doesn’t count), it got me thinking back to some heyday franchises that would be perfect. With that, I present to you the five franchises that Microsoft should be bringing to smartphones.
