StarStar Me, The Greatest Mobile Innovation Since Musical Ringback Tones?
Meet **SARAH
“STAR STAR ME”, is something I’m never going to say to anyone I ever meet. Sprint has teamed up Zoove who has created this ** epidemic that started out as a clever way for businesses to market to consumers by allowing them to dial ** then a name like **FEZ, which would them send them information or patch them to a phone number. It’s a pretty neat idea for businesses and something easy to remember. Sprint is handling the consumer side of this allowing anyone to get a StarStar number for $2.99/month. Jelly Bean’s Google Now Could Be So Cool… Some Day
Just enough education to perform, as the Stereophonics would say.
When Google unveiled Jelly Bean, the latest edition of their Android OS, they showed off a new personal assistant-ish feature to rival Siri called Google Now. One part dictate-and-respond internet AI, the other part precognitive search engine, Google Now has the power to, based on your many Google searches, help you help yourself in ways you never thought imaginable. But having used it for a few weeks now, it’s obvious that it has a long way to go, but a lot of incredible potential. So how does it work?
Facebook Is A Chair, Hits One Billion Users
Facebook, chairs. Facebook, chairs… Okay, now I get it.
It’s hard to believe, but just three years ago, Facebook was only a fifth of its current size, which still dwarfed any social network ever created to that point. The idea that having that many people onboard at a time created a sense of ubiquity. This was a social network that was appealing to far more than fifteen year olds and rock bands, this was something your grandma could use. And grandma showed up, and your brother and your cousin came, too. Now Facebook, even with its purging of fake accounts, can now claim a billion active users a month. One. Billion.

October is a big month for Microsoft. Redmond has a new operating system on the horizon, new Windows phones to launch, Surface tablets to sell, and a new Xbox dashboard update to push out. Amid all the hoopla, let’s not forget about little ol’ Xbox Music, Microsoft’s rebrand of Zune. Set to officially launch on October 26th, Xbox Music will offer free ad-supported music streaming, among other things.
YouTube Adds New Appeal Process for Copyright Disputes
It’s a start.
One of the best pieces of news that has come from YouTube since HD 16:9 videos is this, the new appeals process for copyright disputes. Currently YouTube uses Content ID to match copyright videos and automatically strike the uploaders account, remove monetization and even block the video worldwide. I absolutely despise this process because it puts the burden of proving you own the copyright because a company told YouTube they actually owned the copyright and they probably didn’t have to show proof. Nokia Takes a Colorful Swipe at Apple in New Ad
Yellow is the new black.
Nokia has joined Samsung and other smartphone makers in cracking wise about Apple’s mama. In the following animated ad released yesterday on YouTube, Nokia pretty much calls Apple’s base of über loyal iPhone users a bunch of soulless drones. Yeah, that’s a HUGE stretch, I know.
Toyota Robot To Help Handicap And Lazy
Domo arigato, get me another beer.

Amazon Offers Locker Delivery. Good Idea Or Best Idea?
Wait…Lockers? For your STUFF?! Okay…
How many times have you ordered something from Amazon and then gotten that fateful text message telling you it has been delivered, while you’re at work. When that happens, do you spend all day worrying and hoping that it’s going to be there when you get home? Well this happens to me every time I order something from them. So far I’ve been lucky and haven’t had a single item go missing but it is bound to happen eventually.
Or is it?
