‘SimCity’ Bug Allows Urban Planners To Make Stratospheric Highways
I wouldn’t drive on it.
Unless you’ve been under a rock for the past few weeks, you’d know that SimCity has plenty of big issues left to resolve, like the fact that poor AI undoes your city’s endgame because braindead drivers choke up your city, preventing many important services from taking effect, or the fact that you can’t kick players out of your region, or restart cities, on and on. Well, at least this bug is fun.

New ‘Watch_Dogs’ Trailer Will Make A Believer Of You
They’ll be watching you. You’ll be watching them.
We’ve been excited about Ubisoft’s new surveillance thriller Watch_Dogs since they unveiled it at E3 last year and this latest media makes me even giddier.

‘Strip Search’ Recap: Season 1, Episode 8 “Drawing Blind”
Amy’s “interpret what the hell that meant” face.
It’s a new week, so it’s obviously time for a new elimination cycle for the contestants of Penny Arcade’s Strip Search. Two contestants down and the group’s still feeling pretty big, but there’ll only be winners out of today’s event.

T-Mobile Announces They Are The ‘Uncarrier’, Sells Locked iPhones
T-Mobile finally gets the iPhone… with a big string attached.
To follow up on yesterday’s news of new unsubsidized carrier pricing, T-Mobile, well, made it real. It’s not mandating that everyone pay in upwards of $600+ for a new phone to stay out of a contract with the company, you certainly have the option, and it’ll save you money in the long run. They’re also offering a version of iPhone specific to the carrier, but if you’ve been using an iPhone on T-Mobile (probably not a large group of people), it’s going to be a very different proposal.

GDC 13: Study Finds Less Games Featuring Multiplayer Than Ever This Generation
Take note, game publishers! Maybe you already have?
Wow, I guess I never did notice it until now, but EEDAR says that since 2005, games featuring multiplayer modes, online or off, has been on the decline. As someone who rarely plays multiplayer, that seems to make a lot of sense: publishers are starting to notice when multiplayer makes sense.

Despite Selling Millions, ‘Tomb Raider’ And ‘Hitman: Absolution’ Sales Considered ‘Weak’
Lara’s mad about it, too.
Square-Enix isn’t on the verge of collapse – yet – but its investments in North American game developers, namely, the purchase of Eidos, may seem like a regrettable move. Despite selling over three million copies of both Hitman: Absolution and Tomb Raider, games with long and expensive development cycles, Square-Enix suffered a $105 million loss this year.

Patent Reveals Sony Is Looking to Compete Against Google Glass
Patent drawing for the Glass competitor.
Google Glass looks awesome, something I thought that only Google could pull off. That doesn’t stop the competition from trying to grab their share of the market, though. Case in point: Sony has filed patents for something that looks really similar to Google’s technological headwear. Read the rest of this article…
Study Claims Video Game Industry Leads Retail Enforcement Of Age Restrictions
Who do they think is going to believe this hogwash?
So, yeah. The Federal Trade Commission conducted a study under which they claim to have come to the conclusion that retailers of video games are not only the strictest, but are also the most effective “among entertainment retailers” in enforcing age rating policies.
Hmmm… that part may be true. I mean, I’m sure it’s harder for a twelve-year old to get an M-rated game at a proper video game store than it is at a large, national chain department store but, once we get past that point, the whole story goes pear-shaped. I’m going to have to call shenanigans.

Drox Operative (PC) Hands-On: A Pretty Hardcore Romp Through Space
Drox In Spaaaaaaaaaaccceeeee…
As I mention in our FEZ PLAY below, I’d received the opportunity to check out Drox Operative, a space adventure-slash-RPG, toward the end of last year because developer Soldak Entertainment. To be frank, the web site, dressed in Times New Roman, did not impress, but I’m more than willing to give most any space-based game a chance. So I gave it a few hours to win me over.

Feedly Impressions From A Guy Who Never Used Google Reader
It’s a really boring way to look at the internet, I know.
Last week, the tech universe exploded when Google announced they were killing their Reader app/site/utility, a tool that many power users had utilized to keep on top of the internet at large. I didn’t really care because I’d never used it and, in fact, keep a TweetDeck tab open to do the same thing. I got curious, though. I wondered what the big deal had been, but rather than try and start using Reader now, mere months before its dispersal, I’d try out some of the RSS feed competition. “What’s it like on the other side?” I wondered.
