SimCity Teases Us With Another Beta & Surprise Game Addition
Need more super powers.
It was only a couple of weeks ago that a closed beta of SimCity was activated and quickly went away. Well it’s happening again and this time the beta will only be active for 24 hours starting on February 16th at 8 AM PST. It will still only be an hour at a time game limit but an enhanced version. I don’t know what that means but I want to play it. I didn’t get enough time to play it in January so I need to get in this one and make it count! Read the rest of this article…
Rise Of The Triad – Production Diary, Screenshots And Concept Art
This is shaping up to be a very pretty game.
I love PR people. Really I do. I deal with them a LOT and they nearly always seem to be willing to go out of their way to make sure they’re putting a smile on your face while they do all the things you need them to do in order to help you do all of the things they need you to do.
That may not have made sense to you, but it makes PERFECT sense to me.
So when I get an email from a PR person, which starts out with
It’s Friday, sucka!
As usual, here’s the skinny on all the phat news (yeah, I said “phat” for the first time since 1995)
I giggle a little…Because that, truly, helps make my day…Oh, and keep reading for some cool news about Rise of the Triad!

TPB AFK (The Pirate Bay – Away From Keyboard) Review: In Which Pirates Go To Court
Why wouldn’t you?
I’m really not sure what to make of this film. The producers want it to spread across the internet – I’ve even included it below – but I’m not sure of the motive. What is this film really trying to say? The Pirate Bay – Away From Keyboard is a play on a statement made by one of The Pirate Bay’s co-founders in which he states that they don’t meet “IRL”, but instead step away from the keyboard. The internet is their real life and The Bay’s office is little more than an IRC chatroom. TPB AFK tells the story of these scrappy, idealistic IT workers with seemingly conflicted motives managing the world’s largest tracking site for BitTorrent feeds, many of which are used to ferry copyrighted movies, music, anything. But, what’s the moral of the story? Is piracy inevitable or is there a genuinely altruistic reasoning behind it? The film doesn’t really explain either way.

‘Community’ Season 4 Premiere Review: They’ve Ruined It.
Such promise wasted.
Guys, I’m sorry. When The Office debuted its final season last year, I didn’t have very nice words for it. While the show is a bit like a soda that’s gone flat, I can still enjoy the concluding tales of Scranton’s best paper shop on a weekly basis. All things in perspective though, I was probably too harsh because if the premiere for Community’s latest season is any indication, I hope they box this show up and toss it six feet under fast.

Dead Space 3 (Xbox 360) Review: More Action, Less Horror
It’s odd thinking back on my experience with the series thus far. My first impressions of Dead Space 1 were that of being awe struck in a sense. An In-Game HUD, a third person over-the-shoulder view that didn’t obstruct the action, a unique style to art direction, using dismemberment as a means to kill baddies, and a reasonable story, as the horror was contained in a derelict space ship that forced you to take it slow, and avoid air-ducts constantly. You were an engineer, not some space marine hell-bent on killing everything in sight. It was a decent twist, taking elements from various sci-fi horror movies and mixed them up a little to create a very fun experience. Read the rest of this article…

Wikipad Gaming Tablet Still A Thing That’s Coming Out, Will Sell At $249.99
All this can be yours this Spring…
Just before its originally scheduled launch on Halloween in GameStop stores, Wikipad indefinitely postponed the release of its $499.99 10″ Android-powered gaming tablet. Citing a critical manufacturing flaw in their first units, something they claim was “neither a mistake of our excellent design team nor a fault of our incredible manufacturing partners”, the Wikipad is now finally ready for arrival.

Sharkoon Xtatic Pro 5.1 Headset Review
The name may sound funny but this headset is no joke.
Several weeks back, we reviewed a couple of headsets from Turtle Beach, which we were really impressed with; Specifically the Sierra and Tango headsets from the black ops series. A couple of weeks ago, I was sent the Sharkoon 5.1 Xtatic Pro gaming headset and I’ve had a lot of time to put it through the paces.
So how did it do?

Windows Phone 7.8 Review: Might As Well Buy A New Windows Phone
After I preordered my Lumia 900, rumors of a new Lumia and Windows Phone OS started to blossom. It didn’t bother me until I found out that my phone was incompatible with Windows Phone 8. Nokia and Microsoft felt pretty bad about it, so they decided to create a small update to make us early adopters not feel left out. Well guess what guys, I still feel left out.
