‘Strip Search’ Recap: Season 1, Episode 29 “A Kick In the Pants”
Tense!
My goodness, what a tease!
The 3 Biggest Fears Of E3 2013
A lesson in communication.
Game consoles are far complex now than they were when we were born – this is true even of those born after the turn of the century. They don’t simply play games, they play movies, music and more and they do it online through an ever-strengthening internet. Unfortunately for the platform holders, their ability to communicate what their game system does is becoming a more convoluted affair with plenty of hard questions and no easy answers. From here, our three biggest fears of E3 – the biggest stage for Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo to deliver their message – emerge.
These Are The 5 Games I Can’t Wait To See At E3
Also, it’s cooler in Los Angeles than Phoenix right now. Looking forward to that.
It’s a mere three days before we pack up our things and make our way to the sunny, overly-developed metropolis of Los Angeles to partake in our annual E3 coverage. There’s going to be an ocean of games out there, but that doesn’t mean I can’t have a few favorites going in. Let’s knock down my Top Five and see how they compare after the show!
These Are The 12 Browser Tabs I Open 5 Days A Week
It’s a lot of them!
Even though tabbed browsing didn’t arrive until the mid-aughts, that still didn’t stop me from keeping a large number of web sites open at any time growing up on the internet. Writing for FleshEatingZipper professionally, I’ve accumulated even more tabs to entrance me on a regular basis! So, without further ado, these are the 12 web sites/extensions that I have open on a regular basis. For reference: Google Chrome is my weapon of choice.
4 Things I Learned From Konami’s Pre-E3 Show
From left field, it’s everything Konami wants to show off next week!
To be honest, I didn’t even know that Konami was having a pre-E3 presser until about 11 minutes before it streamed on Gamespot. Good thing I caught the e-mail otherwise you wouldn’t know anything that happened from their event, right? …right? Anyway, the half-hour affair was amusing, informative and entertaining, but let me break out the four big things that I learned from the show.
Omni 360-Degree Treadmill Is The Ultimate Oculus Rift Accessory
It’s a Kickstarter product for your Kickstarted product.
I honestly didn’t know that omni-directional treadmills existed until just a few weeks ago, but seeing one in motion, they seem like a necessary component of any Oculus Rift/virtual reality experience. Who wants to be in a virtual world when all of your movement is restricted to moving a joystick on a controller or a mouse? Enter the Omni: a Kickstarter campaign for such a thing that has no moving parts. So, naturally, it would hit its Kickstarter goal in 3.5 hours.
I Never Asked For This: 4 Reasons Why People Should Stop Hating On ‘Deus Ex: The Fall’
Oh, it’s not that bad.
Panic! After a small tease yesterday, Square Enix has unveiled Deus Ex: The Fall, an… iPad/iPhone game? Yeah. Turns out fans were none too pleased about the announcement and took to every possible vessel (including YouTube comments!) to vent their frustration. But people should chill. As a long-time Deus Ex fan, it’s time to buckle down and explain to peeps why this is going to be a worthy addition to the franchise.
10 Steam Games I’ve Purchased And Never Played
A store full of wonderful games to play and no time to play them!
I, like many of you, am supremely guilty of napping up games off Steam during their frequent discounts. It’s so easy! You see the highlighted, discount price and the transaction that follows is frictionless. Unfortunately, I’ve acquired so many of these games that a guilt has mounted and hopefully by airing my sins, I can begin my journey toward redemption. It’s time to unveil the victims of my crimes of passion!
4 Reasons Why Windows 8.1 Will Be Worth The Update
They could’ve named it something cool, like, I don’t know, Blue?
Windows 8.1, formerly known as Windows Blue, is set to be released as a preview on June 26th for everyone to get their little mice/hands on. Long-rumored, but now in the wide blue open. Normally, major feature updates would have to wait for major service pack updates, but Microsoft is learning a lot from their competition in bringing out much faster, hard-hitting updates. We’re not too hip on the Start button coming back to the desktop view, but there are definitely some neat features coming that you should be excited for. Here are four of them, with a full video preview at the end!
Penny Arcade Turns 15, These Are Their 15 Funniest Comics
Ominous.
I doubt Jerry Holkins and Mike Krahulik would realize a decade and a half ago that their quirky, immature antics, laid out in a series of JPEGs, would inspire thousands of other comics, build an empire worth millions and earn them untold accolades. While I was only reading the comic for fourteen of those years, I like to think I have a firm grasp on their best offerings. Timed conveniently with the wind-down of their Strip Search web series, I went back through the archives and highlighted the very best. If you have some of your own, be sure to drop them in the comments below.
