(Un?)Intentionally Violent Games
Probably the most violent game I’ve ever played
So there I was, playing Jetpack Joyride, by Halfbrick Studios (the same company which created Fruit Ninja), which a friend of mine recommended to me. As I was floating along on my jetpack, picking up coins, dodging laser walls and ducking missiles, I looked down and notice the bodies strewn along the floor.
At that moment, it hit me. This game is REALLY violent! But was it intentional, or not?

Cyan Worlds Supports Indie Dev Team Working On “3D Riven” Project
For the Myst-fan, it’s been a life-long dream to ride the Mag-Rail trams in a fully 3D environment.
If there is ANY game series that encapsulates my pre-to-mid adolescence, it would be the Myst series. Though I would have to say I was introduced during the 2nd installment in the series, Riven was probably one of my favorite games of all time, and though it wasn’t much more than a basic slide-show with interesting puzzles, and a unique visual aesthetic, the game felt alive to me, and gave me an interesting story and setting to boot. Why Do Software Manufacturers Keep Changing My Stuff?!
I’m mad as hell, and I’m not gonna take it anymore!
So, I’ve been seeing a trend lately. A trend toward software developers messing with my stuff. Why do they think they have to do that? Don’t they realize they’re going to make my head explode?

Humble THQ Bundle Is Out, Includes Some Fantastic Releases For Charity
Get all these games for relatively few dollars!
While THQ seems to be in a position to need financial aid here soon, that’s not stopping the company from putting up a smattering of games from its recent catalog to help charity (or not, you decide!) for the price of… well, you decide that, too. How good are THQ’s offerings? Pretty darn good.

Halo 4 ‘Forward Unto Dawn’ Blu-Ray Review: Plenty For The Fans
Stoic, always stoic.
It’s easy, probably too easy, to pass off the Halo 4 web series Forward Unto Dawn as merely a piece of marketing. That’s what it is, but it’s also a pretty good expansion of the Halo universe. I only caught the first of five parts when it debuted online because I honestly wasn’t interested in seeing it in 15 minutes chunks meted out every week, but watching it all in full definition Blu-ray end to end is easily the best way to enjoy the saga and an enjoyable morsel of Halo legacy.

Why Are We Addicted to Reality TV Shows?
Got to bring in the memes.
I’m not talking about Jersey Shore, at least for me that is. The stuff I’m watching is like Pawn Stars, Storage Wars, Duck Dynasty and others. For over two years I didn’t have cable and never saw these shows unless I went to my Mom’s. There would of course be a marathon of one of these shows and I could easily blow an entire day watching every episode. Read the rest of this article…
Why Does Xbox Music Feel Like A Huge Step Back From Zune?
Where did this go, among other questions.
I’ve had Windows 8 on this machine for over a month now – hard to believe – and it’s only recently that I’ve dug into the Xbox Music app that’s baked right into the operating system. You’d figure after a long history of Zune, it’d be one of the first things I tackle, but Microsoft’s had a spotty record with updating their software to, y’know, compete. Xbox Music, for the most part, works exactly as advertised, but there are some large, gaping holes where some pleasurable functionality just isn’t there. Why?

Arrow – Do We Really Need Another Superhero Show?
Like Robin Hood…only not…at all…
So, one of my buddies turned me on to this show called “Arrow”. He spewed on for ages about how it was really awesome and told me all about all the ass-kickery and cute chicks and kung-fu and gun fights and explosions…How could I possibly turn that down, right? I mean, the 4 things which make up a perfect show or film are right there…Explosions, gun fights, kung-fu and boobies! Right?
I mean, how could it POSSIBLY suck, with all that going for it?
