“Puss In Boots” Really DreamWorks?

It’s regrettable to say that DreamWorks has released a trailer for the upcoming Shrek spin off, Puss in Boots. The film will star the inevitable Antonio Banderas, Walt Dohrn, and Zeus Mendoza. Puss in Boots takes everything that you’ve already seen four times, re-plaster itself “new”, and remind us all that studios will never learn from their mistakes as the story leads up to the first movie. Yes, ladies and gentlmen, it’s a purrquel.

Why I Am Not Getting an iPad 2…or any other tablet. Yet.

As most know the Apple iPad 2 was announced last week by Apple in typical fanfare. As a gadget nerd I often get an itch to buy a tablet just because it’s something shiny and new. Right now, it seems better than ever to jump on the bandwagon. You have the iPad 2, you have the Motorola Xoom and you also have the HP Touchpad coming out in the summer along with the what seems like infinite other Android tablets. Yet here I am, confident another year will pass and I will not buy a Tablet.

Why? Read on to find out.

IE9 Launching March 14th, Who Cares?

Over at The Windows Blog they posted an update saying that the new Internet Explorer will finally launch on March 14th at 9pm PST. Oh and guess what? They are launching while they are at SXSW. Is that really the target audience that they want to get? I thought that everyone in the whole online biz hated IE? As much as I hate IE I will be happy if I don’t have to have separate style sheets to support it. I’m speaking like that because I still haven’t installed it on my computer, I already have IE6, IE7 and IE8, I don’t need another one…

Active Games are Good for Kids

This is pretty interesting and cool. Studies were done at Brigham Young University and the University of Massachusetts where they test 39 boys and girls playing active video games or “exergames” for 10 minutes and found that the 10 minutes was the same amount of exercise as a 3 mile walk on a treadmill. Movie Review: Rango

Movie Review: Rango

I wasn’t that interested in Rango when I first took my kids to see it. The previews made me think it was a weird western starring a weird lizard surrounded by a bunch of weird creatures. I was wrong. Rango is all of those things, it’s true, but it is also so much more.

VZW iPhone Slower Than AT&T iPhone

Wait what? Where’s America’s most reliable network now? Metrico did a study that cost $5k so we are getting our info from Wired. The VZW version performed slower than other VZW phones like the HTC Incredible even though the voice quality is better than the AT&T version but who uses their phone to call anyone? That’s what I tell myself whenever I drop a call, I’m going to go cry in a corner now.
