Check Out the First 4 Minutes of Warm Bodies

braaaiiinnnsss….

If you saw my last couple of articles, I mentioned wanting to see Warm Bodies. This movie is funny twist on the classic love story. R (the zombie) meets Julie and falls in love. Julie sees that R is different than the other zombies and through the relationship that forms, R becomes more human. It looks like it’s going to be a great movie. It’s based on a book with the same name. Check out the video below for a look at the first 4 minutes of the film. Warm Bodies is in theaters February 1st. Read the rest of this article…

Hackers And Cheaters And Glitchers, OH MY!

Hackers And Cheaters And Glitchers, OH MY!

Not only is it wrong, it should get you kicked in the nuts, as well.

Since the dawn of PC gaming, people have worked endlessly to find new and innovative ways of cheating the system. From editing save files with hex editors to manipulating memory addresses to out-right changing the code of the software itself, people have been cheating their way to victory for decades. Since the dawn of multiplayer gaming, those same cheaters have been mucking things up for everyone. Invulnerability cheats, speed hacks, aimbots, shooting through walls, flying, teleporting, instant reloads and spell-casts, invisibility…these are just a few of the things that people have been doing to ruin the experience for everyone else.

In this article, we’re going to take a look at WHY people cheat, HOW people cheat and what the game developers are doing to try to stop people from cheating.

2012: FleshEatingZipper’s Year In Review

We are still just as sexy as ever.

This is the point in our year where we open our calendar apps and drag our thumbs up ever slightly to reveal a whole new year of adventure. FleshEatingZipper made some pretty big strides in 2012, our first real year on the interwebs, and it’s time we reflect on the stories we loved and hated throughout. Unlike last year’s entry, my brain isn’t saturated in other sites’ recollective fantasies, so this is going to be as off-the-cuff and completely unhinged as possible. Also, I’m going to talk a lot about the site, which you guys have made better and better through your fanship and interactions! So without further ado, what did we do in 2012?

23andMe Review: A Novelty And The Way Forward [UPDATED]

23andMe Review: A Novelty And The Way Forward [UPDATED]

The 23andMe test kit.

A few weeks ago, I wrote up about 23andMe, the genetic screening company that could help you tap into your DNA: the mostly unknown ID you carry in every cell in your body. The company, founded by Google exec Sergey Brin’s wife, just raised a bunch of cash, granting them the ability to flood the market with cheap (relative to the original $1,000 asking price) test kits that seemed like a great way forward for, y’know, mankind. For full disclosure, I was sent one of these $99 kits from 23andMe for media evaluation and have received the first major results from the test to share with you. What did it say? Further more, would I recommend paying money for it? Or, let me put this another way, should you skip out on two new Xbox games to know part of your genetic identity? Well, I hope to provide some resolution.

What’s With Everyone Buying In To The Facebook Hoaxes?

What’s With Everyone Buying In To The Facebook Hoaxes?

One is born every minute, right?

I’m going to come clean with you…I hardly spend any time on Facebook which means I certainly spend less time than I should, being in a position such as mine. When I am on Facebook, it is usually for one of a very few reasons. I’m either there to see what my actual friends are doing, or to see what kind of drivel my Facebook “friends” are sharing, or to laugh at the people on my friends list who buy in to the various (and numerous) hoaxes which constantly fly around the site.

This article is about that last category.

‘Nitro Circus: The Movie’ Review: People Jumping Off Things

‘Nitro Circus: The Movie’ Review: People Jumping Off Things

Pssssht, I could do that.

I didn’t really know what a Nitro Circus was until I saw the promos for this flick. It sounds really dangerous, but despite being produced by the Jackass guys, this is something far more palatable for weaker stomachs. As ringleader Travis Pastrana puts it, Jackass stunts are designed to fail, Nitro Circus stunts are designed to succeed, so the stakes are a bit higher while the cringe-worthiness of the stunts is significantly lower. Still, how exciting is it to see people jump off ramps over and over again? Only about 91 minutes worth.

Activision Unveils New Walking Dead: Survival Instinct Title, Looks Like Budget Game

In Activision’s new Walking Dead game, zombies are now LEGO minifigs, complete with plastic heads.

Guys, I’m so sorry. I’ve been trying to make my way through Telltale’s award-winning The Walking Dead series and I’ve only completed the first episode. You’ve heard it’s great. I’ve heard it’s great. I want to tell you how great it is and that time will probably come soon. You know who else heard about how great Telltale’s adventure series is? Activision. As such, they pushed out a trailer for their Walking Dead game (based on the TV series, rather than the original comics) which appears to be premature and quite awful. I’ve included the new trailer below.

Coming Soon! The 10 Games I Can’t Wait To Get My Hands On In 2013 And Beyond – Part 1

Coming Soon! The 10 Games I Can’t Wait To Get My Hands On In 2013 And Beyond – Part 1

I’m not big on patience. I am big on raiding game developers’ offices to play their new titles, though.

I’m sitting here sipping on a nice cup of joe, after a really good meal and I started thinking about all of the things that we have to look forward to in the new year. Higher taxes, Obamacare, more chances to win the lottery, FEZ expanding, war, getting to see boobies, famine, gun control…Some of these things are good and some are bad. Some…well some just depress the hell out of me. So I sat here sighing into my coffee and I thought “man, I need to get myself out of the dumps” and started looking for something to cheer me up.

Then it hit me. The thing that never fails to make me happy is simple as pie…Video games.
